What you do here
You find contacts in the category-grouped list and open an entry for details. Use “Call”, “Call mobile” or “E-mail” to start a call or mail directly. With the Admin or Dispatcher role you create, edit or delete contacts and maintain name, organization, category and contact channels.
People & organizations
A company is ONE record with a shared address and website; people are attached with their role. That way an address is maintained once, not per contact person. Each contact can have several numbers and addresses with a label (work, private, central, on-call) and one preferred channel.
Categories, visibility & favorites
Every contact has a category: Internal, Emergency, Workshop, Customer, Authority or Other – the list is grouped by it, and emergency contacts have their own tab. “Visible to” controls which roles see a contact. Favorites are personal – they apply only to you, not to everyone.
History & duplicates
In the communication history you record when someone was last called or e-mailed, with a short note. If a contact is created twice, the duplicates view finds entries with the same number or e-mail; merging keeps the winner field by field and moves the linked data over.
Data protection & advertising (GDPR / § 7 UWG)
This directory is its own processing activity and belongs in the Art. 30 GDPR record. Health, religion or union data has no place in “Notes”. Advertising by e-mail or phone needs consent with date and source (§ 7 UWG); an advertising objection (Art. 21 GDPR) blocks marketing use without deleting the contact. Contacts no longer needed should be archived with a retention date.
